@Brian: yes, you should edit page.php if you want the same layout / design / functionality for all the pages, or use Page Templates if you need further customization.

If there are no subpages, you can create a special template for them, similar to the Front Page template or one that has no sidebar (wide column for pages like T&C).

Very nice tutorial! Thanks for extensive info. I have just one concern. How to hide the sidebar when pages have not subpages. Right now it shows just “Choose Subsection” header in pages with no subpages.

I realize this post is fairly old, and please excuse my newbieness, but where does the markup code for the layout actually go? page.php? What lines should it replace? etc… I’ve been plugging it in all over the place but I’m not getting the results I should be getting.

I really love showing my .net programmer friends what wordpess is capable of. I guess the truth hurts them cause they don’t speak to me for the rest of the day
