Hold your horses! The themes are not here just yet. I just wanted to let you know that I’ll be releasing a couple of free Wordpress themes in the near future. You might think: why is this a big deal, since there are so many free themes out there already? Well… I don’t want to offend anyone, but many of the free Wordpress themes are either poorly designed or they are just slight variations of other Wordpress themes.

Each theme that I will release will be suitable for a certain type of blog: the corporate blog, the gadgets blog, the affiliate blog, the auto blog, etc. Of course, if you know your way around Wordpress, you can always tweak these themes to suit your blogging needs. All of the themes will be based on Sandbox, which is my favourite starting point when designing a blog. I think the Sandbox theme is for a theme developer what an empty canvas is for a painter.

There are two more Wordpress related project that I have in mind. The first is to start a Wordpress video tutorial series, covering topics like how to install Wordpress, how to setup various plugins, how to tweak a Wordpress theme or build one from scratch, etc. So there will be tutorials for total newbies, but also for people that are familiar with Wordpress, but want to take it to the next level.

Here’s a sneak preview of my first theme. This will be a clean, fast-loading theme, ideal for the corporate bloggers or for bloggers that love white space. Click on the image below to see the large version:
