Wordpress Plugin: Wordpress Upgrade Made Easy

Just finished upgrading Wordpress to 2.3.3. I could have handled the upgrade myself, but I wanted to make this as quick as possible. So I found this great plugin called Wordpress Automatic Upgrade, that basically does what it says: it upgrades your Wordpress install automatically.

This was a thing of beauty. Even my mom could use this plugin! If you’re not the technical type, but still want to roll using the latest Wordpress version, this is the plugin for you. Not only it updates everything while keeping your plugins intact, but also generates downloadable ZIP files with backups of your files and database tables.

I’d say this one’s a keeper! ;)

This Time is for Real

Two months ago (wow, it’s been that long!) I’ve set some goals for myself:

  • find more freelance gigs
  • start working on a free Wordpress theme
  • generate some traffic to this blog
  • start making money from blogging
  • become famous
  • try to take over the world

No, wait! That last one isn’t me, it’s The Brain. Anyway… I only checked the first one. I was quite busy, busy, busy these last two months, and it looks like 2008 is gonna be a full year too. It’s kind of the reason why I didn’t complete the second bullet point, which is related to the third one, and so on.

Well, it’s time for that change I was talking about! I’ll start writing more often, since I’ve just set up wireless at home. Now I can end the day with a nice blog post and an episode of one of my favorite TV shows.

It’s not that I’m writing just for the sake of it. I have all these project ideas, but I never seem to make time for them either. So I’m hoping the writing will help me keep things more organized. And there’s also the fact that I get to practice my English even more. In my line of work, good communication skills can really make a difference. When it comes to outsourcing, clients want to make sure you will be able to fully understand their requirements.

So there are many reasons for me to keep writing.
